About

Hollywood – and indeed all of Los Angeles – is home to far more ravens (Corvus corax) that would have lived here before the growth of the modern city. This means that it’s a lot easier to observe ravens in the wild in the big city. Their population explosion mirrors that of their enablers, the human race.  We allude to this situation as an example of the complex state in which we find ourselves at the bottom of this gravity well, at this space-time. Any and all subjects may be addressed in this miscellany, which began as an urban naturalist blog, but continues now in an XVIIIth century vein.
